Principal Message
We had a great week back from Spring break, and it culminated on Saturday morning as students and families participated in Gardening Day by planting flowers, plants, and trees in front of the school. Thank you to our PTO for providing this opportunity to our families, and donating the material and plants to beautify our campus!
On Monday, April 8th, a solar eclipse will occur in the United States. Here in the Fresno area, we will experience about a 40% eclipse of the sun at 11:14 a.m. The eclipse also creates the need to take a few precautionary steps to keep our students safe from potential eye injury that can come from viewing the eclipse without the proper protection. That being said, we will operate on a rainy/Bad Air Quality schedule from 10 a.m. (the start of the eclipse) through 12:30 p.m. (its conclusion) tomorrow. If a class or grade level has planned an outdoor lesson involving the eclipse, it will be conducted using all of the safety measures recommended by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
Our annual Super Son dance will be this Friday, April 12th from 6:00-8:00pm. We look forward to seeing all our boys and their guest on Friday! We will have our monthly PTO meeting this Tuesday, April 9th at 6:00pm in the cafeteria. All are welcome to attend and hear about what’s happening at Gibson! There will be another Knight’s Out on the Town this week at Me-N-Ed’s on Wednesday, April 10th from 5:00-9:00pm located on Herndon & West Ave. Spring pictures will be on Thursday, April 11th, rescheduled from the March date.

Hello Gibson families,
A HUGE thank you to Becky Ratliff and Victoria Ortega for leading our Garden Day and doing so much for our school and campus beautification.
JOGATHON Update: Congratulations to Aaliyah A. of Mrs. Pewther’s class who earned the most in pledges for Jogathon and will be receiving the top prize. The next four top earners are Miles S., Eden H., Sophia W., and four-way tie for fifth place are Aeroh T., Hannah P. Hunter G. and Elizabeth G. Mrs. Pewther’s class was also the upper grade class that earned the most in pledges. The lower grade class that earned the most in pledges is Mrs. Pendola’s. They will be having a Canvas Paint session. Mrs. Moore’s class ran the most laps on average and will be having a Pizza Party. Slips will be going home letting your child know of the upcoming Movie and Ice cream party, Donut Party and/or Bonus Recess.
Tickets for our upcoming Super Son Dance are available for pre-sale now until April 10th. Tickets will be $15 per couple at the door.
This Wednesday, April 10, 2024 5-9pm is Knights Out @ Me-N-Ed’s (N. West location only). Thank you, Daley Kinsey, for organizing this fundraiser! See flyer for details.
